Site Entry
Any truck which is parked in Clarkes Rd., before 7.00 am, with the intention of purchasing Lime from Cobden Lime, will not be loaded before 8.00 am. This is to deter any truck drivers from “turning into” Clarkes Rd. prior to 7.00 am. The only exception; any driver on his first trip into Cobden Lime’s operation, after this first offence there will be NO EXCEPTIONS.
Site Departure
Trucks MUST NOT leave the site before 8.00am or after 5.30 pm.(6.30 pm during daylight saving time).
Vehicles MUST NOT leave the site between 8.25am and 8.45 am. or 3.45 pm and 4.00 pm. during the school term. This will allow for the safe passage of the school bus. Trucks departing the site immediately after these times MUST leave at intervals not closer than 1 minute. Any truck driver who disobeys this rule will not be loaded for 1 hour after entering the site on his next visit to the site.
Load Covering
Lime trucks MUST either have their load covered with a proper tarpaulin; this is a VicRoads regulation, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Truck drivers MUST NOT climb on their trucks under any circumstances.
If found climbing on their truck, they accept any and all responsibilities of damage or injury to them or their truck, and must endure an hour delay on their next trip.
Truck Cleaning
All truck drivers that have contamination in the trucks and wish to remove this contamination on site MUST do so in the nominated area. The only exception will be any driver on his first trip into Cobden Lime’s operation, after this first offence there will be NO EXCEPTIONS. Any truck driver who disobeys this rule endure an hour delay on their next trip.
Roadworthiness
Cobden Lime may refuse to load any vehicle that it considers to be in an obviously un-roadworthy condition.
Native Vegetation
No person entering the quarry site is to interfere with any of the road side or quarry vegetation.
Right of Way
All vehicles entering and leaving the Cobden Lime site MUST do so via Clarkes Rd. Vehicles MUST Give Way to all other traffic.
The vehicle that has the right of way is the vehicle that is at the greater distance from the next passing bay in the direction each is travelling. This applies to all trucks using Clarkes Rd.
Travel Speed
All Cobden Lime related traffic MUST travel along Clarkes Rd. at the maximum signed speed of 40 Km/hr.
Vehicles that are not related to the operation of Cobden Lime cannot be policed by Cobden Lime.
All trucks and other traffic entering the quarry site MUST travel at the signed speed of 40 Km/hr.
Engine Braking
Engine brakes MUST NOT be used where indicated by signs along Clarkes Rd.
Wild Life
Truck drivers MUST give way to all native wild life in Clarkes Rd. Truck drivers MUST assist wild life off the road pavement where possible.
Personal Safety
All persons entering the quarry site MUST wear protective clothing and foot wear. Any person leaving their vehicle MUST wear steel capped boots and high visibility clothing.
Any persons found NOT wearing the correct protective attire will be asked to leave the site.
Truck drivers may leave their vehicle to remove/replace their tarpaulin, and to do their docket. Drivers must stay in their vehicle while being loaded by a loader, no exceptions.
Children under the age of 18, or pets are not allowed onsite, no exceptions.
Repairs
Truck driver MUST NOT carry out repairs to their truck on the quarry site without the manager’s consent in writing. Any driver who breaks this rule will not be loaded for 1 month after leaving the site.
Signage
All signs in and around Cobden Lime have been put in prevent injury and ensure staff and visitors are well aware of the possible dangers and hazards ahead in certain situations and/or environments.
Signage MUST be obeyed at all times.
UHF Radio
All drivers should switch to UHF channel 40 when traveling along Clarks Rd Cobden Lime. This is a public channel designated for on-road communication and safety coordination.
When entering or exiting the quarry via Clarkes Road, drivers are required to use call signs.
It is essential for all drivers to maintain clear communication with one another throughout the route, ensuring safe passage and operational harmony.
